Phase 1 Public Engagement Report: Exploring Our Planning Principles
From October to December 2018, What’s Next focused on getting the word out about the comprehensive plan process and gathering public input on the town’s General Planning Principles, which were first implemented in 2001 to guide decisions on physical changes and public investments in the community. Through speaking with participants out and about town – at places like the Farmer’s Market, college athletic events, and in neighborhoods – What’s Next generated 1,300 points of contact and 642 surveys. The results of those thoughts are shared in this report, which features: An overview of the process; who participated; themes that emerged based on the responses received; and, quotes from participants. This information directly informed the Conversation’s on What’s Next workshop content in January and the Shaping What’s Next workshop coming up April 1-3. So, take a look and come out to the Shaping What’s Next workshop to share your thoughts!
